From Personal Inspiration to Positive Impact: How EarthRoast Coffee is Changing the World, One Cup at a Time
Hi there, and welcome! I'm the founder of EarthRoast Coffee, a company that is passionate about people, the planet, and the future. In this blog post, I want to share with you how my personal experiences with my family inspired me to start this business and make a positive impact on the world.
I have three adorable nieces and a nephew who mean the world to me. A few months ago, I went to watch my nephew play baseball at his game. It was a beautiful sunny day, and I felt so proud of him. As I cheered for him, I looked around and saw the green grass, the blue sky, the cool breeze, and the happy faces of the kids and their parents. I thought to myself, this is what life is all about. This is what I want for him and future generations.
Around the same time, my niece was collecting plastic bags to recycle at her school to help the environment and win a party! :) To help, I gave her all of my plastic bags, which added up to 80+ bags.
That same month I came across palm oil, and it's negative effects on the environment. It is in many products that don't even need it, like Nutella or shampoo. It's then that I realized there are a lot of little things that we do that are harmful to the environment, the people around us, and the future of those we love, but at the same time, if we all do little things to help, we can reverse this trend and be more responsible with what we have been given.
That's when I decided to do some research on my own. I had always loved coffee, but little did I know that it was a passion that was causing horrible hurt to the world. I learned that coffee production has a huge environmental impact.
According to research from The Arbor Day Foundation, one pound of roasted coffee produces an average of 11 pounds of carbon. And with 19 billion pounds of coffee produced annually, that means coffee consumption generates about 209 billion pounds of carbon every year. That's a lot of greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming and climate change.
The World Wide Fund for Nature has reported that coffee is responsible for the deforestation of 2.3 million hectares of forest between 2001 and 2015. That's an area larger than Denmark! Deforestation destroys the home of many wildlife species, including orangutans. The Orang Utan Coffee Project estimates that only 14,000 Sumatran orangutans remain in the wild today.
I was shocked and saddened by these facts. I realized that I had to do something to change this situation. I couldn't just sit back and enjoy my cup of coffee while the world was suffering. I wanted to make a difference for my nieces, my nephew, and all the living beings on this planet.
That's why I started EarthRoast Coffee, a company that sources its coffee from farmers who own their farms, are sustainable farmers, and the coffee is ethically sourced. We also roast the coffee beans at our roastery after the customer orders the beans to help cut down on the waste of mass production, thereby cutting carbon emissions.
Our mission is to provide you with delicious coffee that is good for you and good for the world. We want you to enjoy every sip of our coffee knowing that you are supporting smallholder farmers who care about their land and their community. We want you to feel proud that you are helping to protect protect the future by planting a tree for every product sold, as well as paying to have your carbon footprint offset for your purchase.
We also want you to have convenience and savings by offering you our subscription service, which allows you to get your coffee every month without having to worry about remembering while getting a discount! You can choose from our different roasts and flavorsYou can also cancel or pause your subscription anytime.
So what are you waiting for? Join us today and become part of our EarthRoast Coffee family! Together, we can make a difference for people, the planet, and the future!
